The genius marketing strategy that made Andrew Tate blow up Many say he “invented clipping” By mid-2022, Tate was making ~$10M per month This is how: - The viral engine was his course Hustler’s University (later rebranded as The Real World), which cost $49–$99 monthly - Members earned commissions (up to 50% of referrals) by posting Tate’s clips on TikTok, YouTube + Instagram, embedding affiliate links - This created a vast network of fan accounts which flooded platforms with his content - Tate explicitly encouraged inflammatory content to maximise engagement, as he knew algorithms reward controversy - The more users react, the more they comment + this pushes clips further into algo creating virality - Clippers also made money from ad revenue + at some point it was almost guaranteed that posting clips of Tate would get you views, so there was a strong incentive to post them - In 2021 (launch of his course) he was making $600K-$1M per month, by 2022 he was making up to $11M per month with ~221K subs at peak Nowadays Tate’s private group The Real World attracts over 155K subs, generating ~$5M profit monthly after paying his affiliates Revenue was steady over the years, despite being affected by platform-wide bans including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube + even Stripe This is a lesson on the power of building a cult-like community + aligned incentives (Note: I don’t like the guy, but we can respect strategy)
