Egypt did have its own “Arab NATO” initiative, which was announced at the Sharm El Sheikh meeting in 2015, but that was, expectedly, opposed by Saudi Arabia, the U.A.E, as well as the U.S. (of course) who never wanted Egypt to have too much of an independent role in shaping the region’s national security structure. The U.S.-G.C.C. then countered Egypt with their own U.S.-centric “Middle East Security Alliance” (MESA) in 2017, which was going to involve Israel later, so Egypt then had its own turn at shooting down that initiative in 2019 by fully withdrawing 🇪🇬 So, G.C.C.-Egyptian dynamics are complicated to say the least, partly because Egypt sees the monarchies as extensions of British-turned-American imperialism, but also b/c regionally they’re quasi-rivals, not allies (look at U.A.E. & Egypt in Sudan..or Saudi Arabia & Egypt in Syria etc). Also, Egypt’s entire military-intelligence centric system with powerful independent services represents everything that the G.C.C. royals fear & hate, which is that their own militaries could pose an internal threat to the monarchies..so, we’re polar opposites almost across the board with very few interests in common.

Looks like Iran scored some ballistic missile hits on the HQ of Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman) at 32°08'32"N 34°49'00"E. This does house divisions such as Unit 8200 (SIGINT) & Unit 9900 (Visual Intelligence, VISINT) which are a crucial aspect of Israel’s war-fighting & intelligence gathering 🇮🇱

Seems that the meetings in Cairo between US Envoys Steven Witkoff & Jared Kushner with President Sisi & Maj. General Hassan Rashad, Director of the General Intelligence Service (G.I.S.), went really well with Witkoff & Kushner endlessly praising Egypt’s leading role recently. Witkoff went further and specifically praised Egypt’s G.I.S. saying that “I don't know if history will record the specifics but..without you Sir [pointing at G.I.S. Director Hassan Rashad], we don't finish this" adding that the Egyptian teams were "amazing" & that they have an "incredible skill set". Witkoff even said that working with Egypt on the Gaza ceasefire agreement over the last few days at Sharm El Sheikh was the “worthiest moment” of his life, and that without Egypt, not much would’ve been accomplished 🇪🇬 Witkoff confirmed that U.S. President Trump will be in Egypt next week, his first visit to Egypt as president, which will include a wider summit at Sharm El Sheikh. This is definitely one of the better moments of U.S.-Egyptian relations since the fall of the Mubaraks in 2011, especially considering that President Sisi snubbed President Trump’s invitation to visit the U.S. only some months ago due to serious disagreements over Israel & Gaza etc

Egyptian TV just showed U.S. Special Middle East Envoy, Steve Witkoff, and the son-in-law of U.S. President, Jared Kushner, both arriving to the ceasefire meetings in Sharm El Sheikh (they both look way too excited so let’s see). They also showed a bunch of extremely aggressive-looking motorcades 🇪🇬 Can someone get Extra News & the other channels to remove their obnoxious background filler music..I had to mute them & repost this, it’s unbelievable.

This went entirely unnoticed due to it being in Arabic - President Sisi began that TV appearance by criticizing the Israelis on their ongoing military ops in Gaza, saying how that already casts doubt on their commitment to the ceasefire deal & that the Egyptian side [visibly glancing at Maj. General Hassan Rashad] expects more pressure to be applied, which is obviously directed at the US. He also said that there needed to be an end to IDF ops in Gaza **before** the ceasefire officially goes into effect, hence why Witkoff & Kushner then repeatedly assured them of their position & their intentions at pressuring the Israelis to get them to make the needed concessions… Egyptian-U.S. ties are so complicated b/c of Israel, but Egypt has shown that it’s increasingly able to separate Israel from the U.S. & handle each one separately (despite Israel’s attempts at trying to get the U.S. to pressure Egypt). It’s strange how Kushner was sent to handle Egypt this time, showing U.S. President Trump’s support for Egypt (he’ll also be in Egypt soon), as opposed to the Director of the CIA or the Secretary of State..I thought that alone was highly unusual, which Kushner also hinted at.

“In the 1950s & 1960s we worked together to defeat radicalism eminating from Nasser & other revolutionary states in the Middle East…In the 1970s & 1980s we worked together to roll back the Soviet Union, we were able to switch Egypt from the Soviet camp to the Western camp..” -Saudi Arabia’s FM Adel Al-Jubeir

Really cool demo video from the Egyptian Military & Germany's Diehl Defense showing their IRIS-T SLMs shooting down target drones in western Egypt a few years ago. Egypt is in the process of receiving at least 23 batteries of IRIS-T SLMs (medium range), IRIS-T SLXs (long range), and IRIS-T SLS (short range) systems along with the Hensoldt TRML-4D AESA radars & the High Power Electromagnetic (HPEM) SkyWolf CUAS system 🇪🇬

The Egyptian Government was moving through Baghdad, Iraq, in a very similar protective structure to the ones they have in Egypt it’s as if Iraq’s own services are still closely modeled on ours. We’d usually add like 1 or 2 more EW/Jamming SUVs given the location & risk levels but I love the BMW 7s & Cadillac SUVs combo 🇮🇶 Pretty sure they were the most heavily guarded people in Iraq during that Arab League summit a few days ago that’s an *insane* amount of personnel

I made a trailer vid for the Mubaraks with HBO’s “Succession” theme & it hits so hard especially given the lingering questions of who would succeed President Hosni Mubarak’s decades-long reign during the 2000s 👑 I started it with the first known appearance of Hosni Mubarak with President Nasser all the way to 2011, honestly, a TV series like The Crown but about the Mubaraks would be so great! Pretty shocking recording obtained by the Washington Post The Washington Post of an Israeli intelligence (Mossad) operative threatening an Iranian IRGC officer (commander) on June 13th 2025 telling him he has “12 hours to escape” & that he needs to provide a video of him denouncing the Islamic Republic of Iran. Israeli intelligence threatened at least 20 other IRGC figures & it’s part of a broad intelligence operation to destabilize Iran’s military & intelligence services by going after 2nd & 3rd tier ranks. It’s all in Farsi & clearly the Mossad operative is a native speaker (unclear if he’s an officer or an Iranian on the ground who works for Mossad). He asked the IRGC officer to record a video saying things like “We won’t sacrifice our lives for those who ruined our country for 46 years” before escaping with his family. What’s surprising to me is that Mossad seems to have all the precise info on Iran’s IRGC officers such as their contact information, location, relatives. I’m also surprised at how willing that IRGC officer seems to be to provide a video of him denouncing the Islamic Republic of Iran and to send that to a Mossad operative…really shows how divided Iran’s IRGC & various other services might be & how compromised the entire system really is. Just one question, which other intelligence services were listening in to or at least obtained these calls & then provided them to news outlets like the Washington Post…like, how exactly was this provided only days into the Iranian-Israeli war?

Alexandria’s Borg El Arab Airport & it’s expansion had originally been inaugurated in 2010 by Air Marshal Shafik when he was the Minister of Aviation. President Mubarak notably attended the event in Alexandria along with the Japanese Ambassador 🇪🇬 I much prefer the Egypt of pre-2011, notice it was a much more civilian-centric regime (backed by the powerful intelligence-security apparatus) & even the professional ex-generals like Mubarak & Shafik clearly preferred it that way….
