Eyewitnesses said the incident involved a private motorcycle rider who attempted to overtake a truck on a narrow section of road. According to those at the scene, the rider was not a commercial rider as reported. The motorcycle tried to maneuver through a tight double lane stretch where one lane was blocked due to ongoing road construction, forcing traffic into a single lane. The truck driver reportedly said he was not immediately aware of the motorcycle overtaking until the collision occurred. The accident drew the attention of passersby, travelers, and commercial drivers plying the route. Many were left in shock at the scene and called for caution from road users, especially in areas affected by construction. As of press time, the identity of the victim had not been confirmed. Sympathizers who gathered at the scene said the body were badly damaged, making identification difficult. Security and emergency officials are yet to release an official statement on the incident.

A viral video posted by social commentator and activist, Rinu Oduala has shown a man in captive being brut@lly bəæten while pleading for mercy. In the post shared on social media, Oduala said the abducted officer was filmed by his captors while being ass@ulted, adding that no visible rescue operation had been launched as of the time of her statement. “A NSCDC officer has been reportedly k!dn@pped in Ekiti, Nigeria by tərror!sts who released this video brutally bæting him. Till now, security agencies are yet to launch a search for him,” she wrote. In the video shared online , heavily arməd men believed to be tərror!sts were seen ordering the abducted officer to face forward while repeatedly fl0gg!ng him with a cane. The victim appeared visibly distressed, crying and pleading with his captors to stop the ass@ult. “I don dey look. Sorry, I use Allah beg you,” the officer was heard saying in pidgin English as the att@ckers continued the beating. The exact location of the incident within Ekiti State and the circumstances surrounding the abduction remain unclear as of press time.
