I am very excited to share a project I've been working on since April 2022 sshx is a secure web-based, collaborative terminal. On an infinite canvas, with live cursors. It's packaged as a 3 MB binary. Just run `sshx` and share a link. :)

Today I saw Ehsan Pajouheshgar et al's demo of high-res neural cellular automata and it was cool - ever since seeing NCA on distill in 2020, always wanted to implement one Here is their browser demo ported to jax-js - no custom shaders, just jit(), ~100 FPS :D Same code runs on both WebGPU + Wasm

just remember that there's someone at openai who's job it is to do stuff like - extremely subtle box shadow to button - jiggly action animations - fade transitions the box-shadow in particular is so tiny, I had to stare at that a couple times to make sure I wasn't imagining it

Another demo with topcoat (rust) - wanted to see if I could make a custom map editor with all rendering done server-side This caches+fetches free vector map tiles on server, paints them with rust-skia fast, encodes as JPEG and sends to frontend in a topcoat shard So you can show 100,000 vector map elements with no pre-rasterization and nothing sent to client!

Saw this cool thread and was inspired to add eigh and svd to jax-js, via Jacobi iteration! It runs in your browser, on GPU compute shaders or Wasm backends. It ain't crazy fast like these CUDA kernels, but it finally works: Happy July 4 :D
