Mamdani said at a press conference today that "acknowledging one people's pain does not preclude acknowledging another's." His Nakba Day video and press conference called all 700,000 Palestinians "expelled" — historians document they fled for multiple reasons, some were encouraged to leave by those expecting a swift Arab victory. He repeatedly says "Nakba survivor" in the video and press conference, a term coined to invoke Holocaust equivalence. Both Jews and Arabs lost roughly comparable percentages in 1948 — less than 1%. Neither approaches the Holocaust death rate of two-thirds of European Jews. His Nakba Day video and press conference mention none of this: the war Arab states declared to destroy Israel, the partition rejection, or the 850,000 Jews expelled from Arab lands in the same years.

When people say the IDF is carpet bombing Gaza, they are lying. This a good example of how the IDF operate. They could have easily destroyed this building, killing dozens. Instead, they targeted an apartment on the fourth floor and killed two terrorists.
