I’m just a girl standing up for sanity and truth.

My name is Ella, I'm 17 years old. I do long jump. I play volleyball. I go to school in New Richmond, Wisconsin. When my school allowed a biological male into the girls' restroom without telling parents — I went to the school board. With my name attached. In my own town. I got bullied for it. Harassed online. Even some of my own teachers came after me. I'm still here. Because here's what I know: The net in women's volleyball is set nearly a foot lower for a reason. A biological male can hit a ball across that net at force that could seriously injure a girl. And in track — all it takes is three biological males entering the girls' category and not a single girl in this state stands on a podium. I didn't speak up because it was easy. I spoke up because somebody had to. The Supreme Court is about to answer the question every girl in America is asking. We're ready. Jennifer Sey XX-XY Athletics

They taped maps in our hallways telling girls where else to go. We were expected to perform humiliation rituals so the adults wouldn’t have to make a decision. Then they hired lawyers to make our case disappear. Yesterday, I decided to once again confront my school board.

It's weird that adult teachers and staff are hating on me on social media. Teachers always say that everyone has the right to their own beliefs. I believe that too. I also think that facts are facts. Boys can't simply choose to become girls and expect to take away our rights.

Sophie Cunningham is at the peak of her career. You can't scroll for 2 mins w/o seeing her. She has sponsorships, deals, everything to lose. When ESPN asked her about saving girls sports & protecting our spaces—unlike every other elite female athlete—Sophie told the truth.

I remember exactly how it felt realizing girls were being told to stay silent and accept things that were clearly unfair. When my high school let boys use the girls bathrooms, I went through shock, denial, fear, anger, and eventually determination. That determination turned into action, because I knew staying quiet would never protect girls like me.
