Expecting hurricane-force winds & flooding, so we're evacuating. Again. Smiling so we don't cry. 🙃 Tarps are secured to the picnic breed coops. Larger meat dogs are put in sheds. Will you please pray for: 1. Our safety as we evacuate with our favorite barn cat. We have a long drive ahead of us with potentially limited gas supplies. 2. Our home. 3. Our remaining 1,700 meat dogs. Wish we could have packed them up with us, wish we could've stayed with them. Please pray they find shelter. 4. All of the region. This storm is so powerful. To our fellow farmers evacuating livestock (or having to make the decision we did, to leave them behind): we see you. We know you're living through the most challenging times. We know that if people didn't keep paying for this, if the gov't had any exit plans for you, you likely wouldn't be going thru this mental anguish. And while the folks who eat animals generally don't care much about the pain you're in, nor will they connect their choices to the millions of trapped farm animals about to drown or be blown away or crushed by debris--remember: Leaving 1000s of animals to drown in sheds is the circle of life! There are no animal-free protein sources that could decrease the impacts of climate change! This is the only way it can ever be. We're still taking online orders to process next week:
