After careful consideration and reviewing the current eligibility guidelines, I’m officially declaring myself a WNBA prospect. If simply declaring who you are is all that’s required, then I meet every single requirement necessary to compete in the WNBA. My team and I have carefully examined the WNBA’s eligibility criteria and governing framework surrounding self-identification and inclusion. Based on the current guidelines, I can and am officially declaring my eligibility for the upcoming WNBA draft in April 2027. I know my presence on the court will stir up strong opinions. I am definitely not here to mock, make fun of, or disrespect any community or personal choices. I’m simply asking that the current rules be applied equally to everyone — the rules that represent the very values many WNBA players and coaches have publicly advocated for. My team and I are prepared to ensure these guidelines are applied equally, consistently, and without exception, and I look forward to the #WNBA honoring its stated principles. WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert and the WNBA task force, I am now speaking directly to you. I’m going to keep this short and sweet, so open your ears and listen carefully. I would like to offer you a peace summit, moderated by my friend Caitlyn Jenner. I’ve already spoken with her, and she’s in. I’m not a troublemaker. I’m more of a peacemaker. Listen, The whole world is laughing at you. You have turned the #WNBA into a laughingstock. MAKE WNBA FEMALE AGAIN Commissioner Freedom Has a Nice Ring to It. While the reported retirement of #WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert is a win for women and an admission that the league’s rules must change, her retirement does not solve the systemic issues which must be addressed in order to protect women’s sports. If the WNBA is unable to define what a woman is, then I, Enes Kanter Freedom, would be more than happy to step in as commissioner and lead this league back to greatness and restore fairness for all women. I’ll bring common sense. I’ll bring fairness. And yes, I’ll bring a dictionary.

So far, I’ve spoken with: 2 Former NBA players 3 G-League players 3 European players They have all said that if the WNBA doesn’t change the rules, they’re ready to join the movement and are considering coming out as women and putting their names in the 2027 #WNBA Draft. Hear me out; The NBA G- League pays players $45,000 a year, while the #WNBA top players earn $1.4 Million. Those “men” could earn an extra $1,355,000 a year by just identifying as women. A group of WOMEN running a WOMEN’S-ONLY sports league has to hold a meeting with other WOMEN to decide what a WOMAN is, so they can determine if I qualify as a WOMAN and eligible to compete against WOMEN in a league created specifically for WOMEN. I see… #LetFreedomPlay

🚨Please pay attention to this matter! What I’m doing and what I stand for is very different from what other players are doing. I chose to lead the way because I believe this conversation matters. Others may follow, but everyone has their own approach. As I’ve said from the beginning, I’m not here to mock, make fun of, or disrespect any group or anyone’s personal decisions. What I’m trying to do is bigger than clicks or attention. I don’t want this effort to become a laughingstock or for people to stop taking my message seriously. That’s why I want to be very clear: I am NOT associated with ANY other player or what they are doing. I wish every player the best. They have the freedom to say whatever they want, but I believe what we are fighting for deserves to be taken seriously. 🚨 A little note to the media: Please do not put me in the same category as other players. 27 years! 27 years of persecution. 27 years of torture. 27 years of families torn apart. It has been 27 years since the Chinese Communist Party launched its brutal campaign against Falun Gong. Millions have been imprisoned, tortured, and persecuted simply because they chose to live by the values of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. Their stories deserve to be heard. Help me understand America. Why is it that liberal athletes are celebrated for speaking out politically, while conservative athletes are criticized for doing the same thing? When athletes supported Obama, they were praised by the media, corporations, sports leagues, and Hollywood. Nobody called it “dangerous” or “polarizing.” The same thing happened in 2016, when many athletes attended Hillary Clinton rallies, publicly supported her, and openly campaigned for her. But when conservative athletes express their opinions, they are told to stay quiet, while liberal athletes are applauded for doing the exact same thing. Americans can see the double standard.

Socialism may sound appealing to some people today but history shows it has failed in many countries. Just look at Venezuela, Cuba, the Soviet Union and others. Those countries faced economic decline, shortages, and a loss of freedom. We shouldn’t repeat those mistakes. Many young people are struggling with high housing costs, student debt and uncertainty about their future. Those are real problems and we shouldn’t ignore them. But history shows that socialism doesn’t solve those problems. It often leads to less freedom, less innovation, and fewer opportunities. Instead of abandoning the system that has created so much opportunity, we should fix what’s broken while protecting the freedoms that have made America a country that millions of people still dream of coming to.
