If every house in Australia turned on a toaster simultaneously, it'd add nearly half of the grid's average load, causing it to crash. Yet, no one worried about the electricity grid when electric toasters became widespread. So why do we still think that EVs will crash the grid?

Nuclear for Australia? Too slow, too expensive, and it doesn't fit with renewables. By 2033, 90% of our electricity could already come from renewables. Why solve problems we don't have—like needing "baseload"? In South Australia, rooftop solar sometimes meets 100% of demand.

Is the energy transition really increasing mining needs? A typical petrol car burns 17,000 liters of fuel over its life, while an EV needs just 160 kg of metals in its battery—99% less mining. Even without battery recycling (and we will recycle), clean tech mining is far lower.
