Two years ago, I interviewed this young graduate farmer while he was still a student at the University of Cape Coast 🌱 Today… he sent me this heartbreaking message 💔 After investing over GH₵180,000 into a 6-acre farm with no support, floods have destroyed everything. His crops are gone. His investment is gone. And now, he says he may have to send his workers home because he has nothing left to continue. Unbelievable 😳 I saw a plantain chips processor turning waste into wealth… Creating jobs for over 200 people AND using plantain peels to feed livestock 🐐🌱 Meanwhile in Ghana 🇬🇭… What are we doing with our plantain peels? French investors came all the way to Africa to invest heavily into banana farming under irrigation…😳🍌 Notice the white rubber covering the fruits? That is serious farming business. Protecting quality. Reducing losses. Targeting premium markets.
