As we stopped by a building of the Ukrainian Government that has been damaged during the aggression, I underlined Europe's focus to deliver shelter, provide generators, repair damaged homes & improve access to water & heating. We are stepping up our humanitarian aid to ensure Ukraine is prepared for the cold winter months ahead 🇪🇺🇺🇦

The opening of the first chapters on democracy, justice and the rule of law underlines both countries' reform efforts and their commitment to European values. All while pushing back against Russia's aggression, threats and intimidation. Enlargement is our strongest geopolitical tool, and Ukraine and Moldova belong in Europe 🇪🇺🇺🇦🇲🇩

This brings greater certainty to the aviation sector, stronger passenger rights, and easier travel across Europe. Proud of the work done by all MEPs, especially Rapporteur Andrey Novakov and TRAN Committee Press Vice-Chair Virginijus Sinkevičius, whose determination and commitment made this result possible.

People in Iran deserve to live free. The European Parliament will keep pushing to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organisation. It would mean further degradation of the IRGC's ability to operate with impunity, disrupt their cash flow, their modus operandi and underline that they will find no safe haven. Equally importantly, it would send a strong message to the brave Iranians on the streets that Europe has heard them, that we stand with them and we have acted against their tormentors.
