There are new levels to this. Alabama just “killed the 2-for-1 kill.” You can see Illinois’ assts jumping up to alert their player to wait to inbounds so they could get the last shot of the half… so Bama calls a timeout, preserving the 2-for-1.

📋🏀 Dusty May drew up an Aday Mara fake ball screen backdoor for the game winner — the same play Michigan ran to close the first half. Worked to perfection against Iowa's off-ball denials.

Longest — and best — 2-for-1 kill I’ve seen this season. Colorado State wasted 11 seconds before inbounding, then scored with the shot clock expired prior to halftime.

Luka is going to have to play *much* better defensively on the perimeter if Dallas is going to win this series. He gave up too many blow by's that directly led to baskets or put the Mavericks in rotation:

Illinois scored 7(!) baskets directly targeting Conor Enright to get him switched onto David Mirkovic. If Illinois finds a matchup it likes, it will hunt it relentlessly. Versus Indiana, Enright was the target.

The Timberwolves played 8(!) different coverages against Luka Doncic in Game 3. It didn't matter -- Doncic has seen *every* defense and knew exactly how to dissect them:

When you hear about shooting variance, it's almost always about 3-point shooting. But what about 2-point luck or variance? There may not be a better example of that than Iowa's upset over Florida. Florida has one of the best 2-point defenses in the country and Iowa consistently finished through very good vertical contests. As John Gasaway noted, Iowa’s 70% two-point shooting was the highest number by any UF opponent in four years.

Michigan’s first 5 minutes of defense vs. Indiana was as dominant as you’ll see at *any level* of basketball. Indiana only got to the paint one(!) time — 4:30 into the game — and didn’t score all 5 minutes. Watch how Michigan did it:

Illinois aggressively crashed the offensive glass with 4 players on *every shot,* rebounding 49% of its misses. It wasn’t usually Illinois’ size -- but rather their speed -- that allowed them to get around Michigan's guards & wings and totally dominate the boards

Here are all the plays below. Duke actually ran that same flare on the 2nd play, too. Lendeborg shot the gap instead of chasing and Mara's more active hands dissuaded the pass.
