Some football matches end when the final whistle blows. Others leave behind a rivalry that refuses to die. The CHAN 2024 clash between South Africa and Uganda at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, was exactly that. It had everything, tension, drama, and a stadium hanging on every moment. To me, that game marked the beginning of a football rivalry between the two countries that is yet to be settled. And then there was our very own football commentator, Jermaine Egesa, who delivered exceptionally on the day. His commentary only added fuel to an already electric atmosphere. I can’t wait to see more of this drama when AFCON comes to East Africa in 2027.

Aerial view: This is the progress of works at Akii-Bua Stadium in Lira City. The contract for the entire project is being undertaken by Samco National Construction Company from Egypt. Works on specific areas of the project, including all stadium seats, the playing surface, and all the training grounds, both the hybrid pitch and the one with artificial turf, are being handled by a subcontractor called Integral Spor from Turkey. The running track inside the main stadium and the one on the training pitch, as well as the technical benches, will also be the responsibility of Integral Spor. 🎥: Josh #ErichMboowaReports
