Some football matches end when the final whistle blows. Others leave behind a rivalry that refuses to die. The CHAN 2024 clash between South Africa and Uganda at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, was exactly that. It had everything, tension, drama, and a stadium hanging on every moment. To me, that game marked the beginning of a football rivalry between the two countries that is yet to be settled. And then there was our very own football commentator, Jermaine Egesa, who delivered exceptionally on the day. His commentary only added fuel to an already electric atmosphere. I can’t wait to see more of this drama when AFCON comes to East Africa in 2027.

Aerial view: This is the progress of works at Akii-Bua Stadium in Lira City. The contract for the entire project is being undertaken by Samco National Construction Company from Egypt. Works on specific areas of the project, including all stadium seats, the playing surface, and all the training grounds, both the hybrid pitch and the one with artificial turf, are being handled by a subcontractor called Integral Spor from Turkey. The running track inside the main stadium and the one on the training pitch, as well as the technical benches, will also be the responsibility of Integral Spor. 🎥: Josh #ErichMboowaReports

Today, the women of Bamutakudde Village were learning how to prepare good brown rice, commonly known as Pilau, courtesy of lessons from Chef Godwin Uganda and the support of their Chairman, Solomon Serwanjja. The aim is to help them establish a professional catering service in the village, which continues to position itself as a model village in Uganda. 🎥: Chef Godwin

Chef Godwin Uganda and his team are in Bamutakudde Village today, teaching the women how to prepare quality and delicious meals. This is part of the strategic vision of their Chairman, Solomon Serwanjja, to establish Bamutakudde Catering Service as one of the ways of empowering them economically. Amazing things keep happening in this model village every now and then. Such partnerships and collaborations are exactly what we need if we are to witness steady and sustainable progress in villages across Uganda. Video credit: CHEF GODWIN UGANDA

Just in case you thought the video I posted here yesterday of UPDF soldiers performing the Kiganda dance was AI-generated, here’s another one. In this video, a group of soldiers is seen marching while donning traditional Karamojong attire in the Interforces Drills Competition. Eno new curriculum yenyini! 😂
