Teams like Elche and Como – I’m sure others as well – simplify their buildup from goal kicks by pushing eight players higher and creating a 3v2 situation in the first phase with a lot of space to attack. Effecient way of beating the first line of pressure.

Already in their first friendly, De Zerbi’s Marseille are playing with a clear idea. Always creating multiple solutions for the ball carrier in order to find the free player and progress. Impressive after just 14 days of work.

Tobias Strobl’s Wolfsburg is another team to follow this season. 3-2-5 base with four fixed players and six central ‘floaters’ converging around the ball looking to play through pressure and offer inside diagonal options

NEC Nijmegen’s extreme approach against Bodø/Glimt will be something to watch. Forward at every opportunity, man-to-man all over the pitch. “Chaos” against “control"

I think Hurzeler has improved Brighton a lot when it comes to handling different types of games with the ball. Whatever the opposition does, the players have clear solutions ready, even with a more principle-driven approach than De Zerbi, who was in charge before him.
