Happy 10th Anniversary Good Morning Britain! It was January 2014 when Editor Neil Thompson and I flew to New York for inspiration to create a new breakfast format for ITV we returned full of ideas. Within weeks we were working with set designer Jim Fenhagen Jack Morton, who won the pitch by placing the desk in the centre of the studio really maximising the space. Rob May & Simon Hill Sitting Duck composed the music, my brief was to create a ‘legacy theme’ something that I wanted to hear on air 10 years later…they smashed it! ITVcreative brought my vision of flying up to The London Studios tower to life, it was no Rockerfella Plaza but I still loved it! With an outstanding on air launch team Susanna Reid Ben Shephard Charlotte Hawkins Sean Fletcher and a brilliant crew backing us up it came to life at 0600 on Monday 28th April 2014 and I was proud to serve as Series Director for just under 8 years. Congratulations to all involved past and present and happy anniversary to Good Morning Britain - here’s to another 10 years!

I want to take a moment to shout about part of my BBCMediaOps team whose work you might not see if you live in the UK. They work with BBC News عربي & BBC NEWS فارسی and in addition to making their usual studios look great they took over the studio normally used for the 6 & 10 o’clock news for our US Election coverage. I’m biased but it looked awesome! Huge credit to all the team but especially our Creative Director Paul Pledger for leading this and to graphics developer Thomas Doykinitsas who put together this short video👇🏼

Had lunch with my mate Siân Welby on the weekend and happened to mention this ‘super cool’ niche talent of mine regarding the best police programme ever THE BILL and now this on #CapitalBreakfast this morning…to quote Jordan North and @Chris_Stark “that’s cool” “that’s amazing” for reference Sgt Cryer was SO92 🤣
