How on earth can Andy Burnham say on Monday at the Dispatch Box - on the bible - that he plans to honour the Brexit Referendum outcome and by Thursday be planning to take the U.K. back into the European Court of Justice & pay the EU for the privilege?

Labour have announced £874m to end homelessness - something Andy Burnham failed to do in Manchester. And yet at the weekend, criminals let out of Prison early under this government were reportedly handed tents to live in as there was no housing for them. My questions to the Minister: 1) will part of this £874m be used for criminals they have let out onto the streets? 2) If there isn’t anywhere to go for those leaving prison then where is the accommodation coming from to house the other homeless people? Or has all the accommodation gone to illegal immigrants?

What on earth is Andy Burnham talking about? Talking about the “common wealth Labour created” until the 1980s came along. Andy forgot to say that under Labour PM Sunny Jim Callaghan, exactly 50 years ago, the IMF had to come in and bail out the UK from the debt created under Labour! There was no “common wealth” created by Labour - just astronomical debt! History is repeating itself.

Could the Prime Minister explain what was so particularly deserving about the Avanti train drivers that warranted such a pay increase - or was it done just to avoid the embarrassment of the Cabinet not being able to get back and forth to his Number 10 in the North vanity project - or do we take it that this Prime Minister will cave in to every trade union demand that comes across his desk?

What a disgrace. Ed Miliband came to the House to do a Statement about how vital it was to get to net zero- but when I asked him 3 simple questions, the cost, who’s paying for it & if the UK got to net zero how much it would reduce global temperatures, he couldn’t answer.

Andy Burnham’s reply when asked a question about farming at the Dispatch Box this week was shocking. ‘I'm probably not renowned for spending much time on farms. I'm more likely to be found in the northern quarter of Manchester’ I couldn’t believe the Prime Minister of a country - especially one wanting growth in every postcode - would know so little about farming particularly given the battering the farming sector has taken over the last few years what with Labour’s family farm tax, the rise in energy prices and fuel and fertiliser costs, the impact the bad weather has had, and now with the bluetongue outbreak and the lack of vaccines. His staggering answer confirmed what we already knew. Labour knows nothing about farming & rural life & cares very little about it too - if it did - it would never have brought in the family farm tax.

The government are refusing to provide any meaningful answers about the Peak Cluster Protect - a wholly unnecessary £5bn net zero scheme by saying it’s nothing to do with them. Far from it - the Peak Cluster Project has deep, direct, structural and financial links to government…. Exposed here … #peakcluster

I asked the Minister how she plans to deport someone who’s destroyed their documents so you don’t know their country of origin? Or does she think we should keep those people here forever, in hotels or in one of the new 1.5m houses Labour plans to build? Woeful reply.

At his 3rd try, Andy Burnham has become Prime Minister. Third time lucky for him but I fear unlucky for the rest of us especially after he reminisced about the 1970s in his speech yesterday! The decade that gave us the 3 day week, the IMF bail out, the winter of discontent & when the top marginal tax rate was 98%. No wonder he talked about hope in your heart, you’ll need it to survive a re run of 1970s- for you certainly won’t have a ‘pound in your pocket.’

The rumour is that the delays to the government adhering to the Humble Address Motion to release the information on Mandelson’s appointment is due to Cabinet Ministers refusing to hand over their mobile phones for fear of the messages on them with Mandelson and the embarrassment it might cause them. So I asked the Minister if that was the case….
