I’m GDRAGON, the youngest recipient of this year’s Order of Cultural Merit, the Okgwan. 🌼: Handsome‼️ 🐲: I know, I know. It’s been almost a year since I made my comeback after a long break. Hmm… if I remember correctly, I first auditioned when I was about six, holding my mom’s hand. Since that day, I’ve been chasing the same dream. As a teenager, my dream was to become a singer and I achieved it. In my twenties, I received awards. In my thirties, I was honored with the Okgwan Medal. So now, I’m looking forward to what my forties will bring. Ah, by the way, I had to rush here, so I’m a bit out of breath. I prepared a lot, but now that I’m here, the words don’t come as easily. First of all… I’ve always admired singers since I was young. I still do, and I’m truly proud and in love with being a singer myself. Not only that, but also all the seniors who allowed me to dream they were always like shining stars every night. I grew up listening to their songs, and now, after becoming one of them, our group will celebrate our 20th anniversary next year. I want to share this honor with my members, and I’m also deeply grateful to VIPs and FAM. I’m currently on a world tour, and it’s truly amazing. Every day feels like a dream. Every night before bed, I tell myself, “Good night, sweet dreams,” and it gives me strength. If you keep having good dreams every day, those dreams can become reality and when reality becomes a dream again, you can dream new dreams. Chasing dreams day by day even if the dream doesn’t exactly come true it still makes life feel wonderful, right? So, to all of you, I may be the youngest this year, but I have experience… yes, haha. Sung Si kyung’s YouTube Sung Si kyung’s Meogeultende (성시경의 먹을텐데) : Mentioning GDragon ⭐️ Si kyung: So I ended up singing GD’s song at a concert… Honestly, I’ve talked about this here and there many times, but even though he’s technically my junior and far more successful than me I don’t see him as a junior at all. To me, he’s just a ✨star✨ I’ve never once thought of GD as “my junior.” Because I know that GD’s fashion sense, his star quality, and his music have absolutely nothing to do with me. As a fellow Korean, I simply think he’s incredible just someone very… distant? That’s why I find it hard to approach him. I get all awkward and stiff Of course, I can talk to him to some extent. But for example, if I have to do something involving a GD song, I need to contact his office to get the instrumental, right? And that’s where the difficulty comes in. I’ve never once gone out drinking with Jiyong as a friend or anything like that. Well of course, we’ve greeted each other and talked on the phone a few times. And honestly, he doesn’t even have to be that nice to me, but I’m always really grateful. Whenever I reach out, he’s so polite and kind 🐲: "Ah! yes, sunbaenim" and he readily agrees to my requests. In moments like that, I feel this simple, quiet happiness. I even want to brag a little, you know? Like, "GD treats me well~" that kind of thing, haha. I want to keep cheering for him from far away, forever. Winning my second Grand Prize… (looking at the doll) and there’s another… cute little friend. And receiving the award from a senior I deeply respect makes it feel even more precious. Um… there’s nothing much to say besides that I’m happy and grateful, but I truly thank you, and I’ll do even better. I will keep doing my part to be an artist worthy of this moment today… When I first started, it feels like ages ago, but back then words like genre or artist felt very distant.
