The upcoming arrow redesign will focus on diagramming (connecting shape -> shape). In cases where you're allowed to go inside, there's a timeout so you can still easily bind to the shape outline, but also bind inside it. (You'll always be able to bind inside any time by using Opt/Alt.) Should we add this sexy animation to illustrate the timeout better?

Excalidraw is now powered with a brand new history manager. Much stronger, much better! You'll especially notice the difference during collaboration, where each user now has their own undo/redo stack. Give it a try! Huge thanks to Marcel Mraz 💜

We've made improvements to performance, especially while creating new shapes, which is particularly notable when using the freedraw tool. The shape you're creating is drawn on its own layer so other shapes on canvas don't much affect it (unless someone else is drawing at the same time). Via Ryan Di 💜

We're shipping beta of our draw to shape tool. Most useful on tablets with a pen, or if you need to quickly draw up a diagram without switching tools. Co-contributed by mbkrafft ❤️

Mermaid improvements incoming! - Proper code editor when you want to get your hands dirty and go manual - Prominent errors, with a potential auto-fix (don't expect much, yet) - Improved Mermaid renderer (fixed text wrapping, and better styling support)

We've redesigned simple arrows binding behavior. Easier to work with, more predictable, and those cases where arrows get all messed up when you move things around are fixed :') ↓
