Pride is about living openly. For LGBT ex-Muslims, that remains a dangerous luxury. For many, coming out isn’t the only secret they carry. Leaving Islam can mean losing family, community, safety—or worse. Across much of the Muslim world, same-sex relationships remain criminalized. In some countries, they can carry life imprisonment or even the death penalty. Countless LGBT ex-Muslims are forced to hide both who they love and what they believe. Everyone deserves the freedom to live openly and honestly—without fear of punishment, violence, or ostracization.
