He was writing syndicated articles at 17 (the youngest in the U.S.) Nobody had to strong-arm Harvard into accepting him. Candace viciously mocks Erika: “People online- they’re just saying that they want me to die! I’m just so overwhelmed, Mr. Vice President…*Dab, dab, dab – no tears*…I just don’t want my kids to be an orphan, Mr. Vice President!” This is coming from the woman who has CAUSED the death threats that could very realistically orphan Erika’s kids. If this doesn’t turn your stomach, then you’re given over to the same spirit that has afflicted Candace. There just aren’t adequate words for how dark this woman’s soul has become.

As a stay-at-home-mom whose own mother was widowed (and went back to work) when my father died young, this is the part that really got me: ANDREW: “Nobody’s in the bigger Girl Boss position than you…you don’t HAVE to do this…you just DO do this…” CANDACE: “You are making a comparison that cannot be compared because Erika’s husband was just assassinated.” ANDREW: “…Which makes sense why she would take the organization over.” CANDACE: “It makes sense why you would go home to your kids – just so you know.” How dare she judge Erika for shouldering her husband’s legacy when Candace chooses to work just for money/fame/relevance/fulfillment?

The battle is btw the “American Exceptionalists” & the “Bipartisan Grievance Party.” American Exceptionalists: “America is awesome. We have historically been awesome, and we will be awesome again if we do the hard things that we must do.” Grievance Party: “America is not awesome, was never awesome, and will only be awesome if we fundamentally rewrite the American bargain and also retreat from the world for our great sins.” He says this battle will define our future as Americans.

.Ben Shapiro describes his wife holding their newborn baby this week: “It’s when she is at her most beautiful… and that’s not because she’s at her most physically beautiful – of course not- it’s because it’s when her soul is at its height.” Beautiful words. Many women would say the same about seeing their husband holding their little one for the first time as his tired eyes fill with joyful tears and he seems to strengthen to protect this new life.

Charlie had Ben Shapiro on his show the DAY BEFORE HE WAS KILLED. He joked with Ben in the clip below about Jewish conspiracies: “You Jews own the media, Ben…as you can tell by all the wonderful headlines you guys get!” It was a great exchange. Charlie asked Ben about many of the accusations against Israel and let him give rebuttals. Charlie wanted to hash out rational sides of the Israel debate within MAGA (although he clarified in this interview that the pro-Hamas team wasn’t rational or welcome). When you watch this final interview, you can see that Charlie was open about criticisms of Israel. They were, however, tempered by his support for Israel, and he thought Jewish conspiracies were foolish. As ever, Charlie was fair. Nobody was preventing him from bringing up these questions, and Ben answered them well. It was a friendly exchange. It was also clear that Charlie chose Ben to give the rebuttal bc he BOTH wanted the questions to be asked AND a competent pro-Israel defense to be heard. None of this would have been a reason for Israel to kill him, and it’s unbelievable that some of his alleged “friends” have tried to frame it as such.

.Jeremy Boreing responds to the backlash from his Mark Driscoll interview: “Just know that I’m not sorry I had him on. I am sorry if it hurt your feelings. I do consider how you guys are going to respond to the things that I do… Maybe it was bad strategy. I don’t think it was bad morality.” Full disclosure – I haven’t listened to the interview yet because I’m not a big fan of Mark Driscoll & wasn’t enthusiastic about Jeremy giving him a platform. I’d planned to skip that one, but now I think I have to watch it bc of the controversy. (Well played, Jeremy!) Either way, I agree that we don’t have to agree. Jeremy is right that not everyone is going to like all of his decisions. For example, I love his show The Pendragon Cycle, but I’d raise the necklines a good 4 or 5 inches. 😉 I still enjoy it. I wouldn’t have invited Mark Driscoll on, either, but it’s not my show, and I’ll still enjoy it. I’m glad that Jeremy took feedback from Mark’s critics and considered it because these are discussions we need to have in the church. When consuming content, I think the most important thing is not whether we always agree but whether we’re working toward the same goals honestly, and I believe that’s the case with Jeremy.

.Ben Shapiro discusses the right’s error in amplifying people of low character purely bc they’re “transgressive”: “It was a GIGANTIC mistake for so many people on the right to embrace Andrew Tate just because Andrew Tate was transgressive. …If somebody is transgressive of leftist orthodoxies, it doesn’t matter if they’re a complete piece of crap. There’s a willingness on the right to then give them extraordinary credibility… The worse they are- so long as they are saying transgressive things- this is now taken as a sign that they ought to be part of ‘our team.’” Ben’s right. This has burned us not just with the Tates, but with other influencers like Candace Owens, Elijah Schaeffer, Sarah Stock, etc. We need to learn this lesson. 🎥:

.JD Vance explains that despite his personal affection for Thomas Massie & agreement with him on some issues, Massie’s burned too many bridges through obstinacy: “I think the problem with Thomas (and I’ve told him this in private and now I guess I’ll say it in public) is that it’s one thing to disagree with the party on a particular issue….voting against the party on every single issue – you’re eventually going to make too many enemies… Every time that we’ve needed Thomas for a vote, he’s been completely unwilling to provide it… We can never count on him for some of the most difficult votes. …Politics is politics, and when you always vote against the party, you can’t expect the party to actually back you.”

.Ben Shapiro really liked The Odyssey, but his biggest issue was what we all anticipated: the cross-sex casting. Describing Elliot (Ellen) Page playing the male warrior Sinon, Ben says: “Coming out of the mouth of Elliot Page, it just doesn’t land. The shots are beautiful. The dialogue is good, and it’s coming out of the mouth of a woman- there’s just no other way to put it… And having a woman pretending to be a young-ish man does not land in the way that it should.” Ben says it’s a totally unforced error that breaks the viewer’s immersion- as you’d expect. Nevertheless, he thinks the rest of the film makes up for it.

It’s hard to fathom how deeply the Turning Point USA staff has been betrayed these past six months. On the show today, Andrew Kolvet explains how he thought he could trust Joe Kent, shared Charlie’s group chat with him, & then the chat was leaked to millions by Candace: “I was told I could trust Joe Kent. I provided the screen grabs to Joe Kent… Joe did message me and suggest that I make those screen grabs public. I declined because those were shared privately. I didn’t want to be reckless with them in the public… But then fast-forward another week or two, and they were made public.” So the leaker was either Kent or his staff, and based on his smiling selfies with Candace, the answer seems clear. At this point, I think it’s very likely that he’s guilty of other leaks, as well.

.Jeremy Boreing tells Joshua Carr about his “very real break up,” with Ben Shapiro, calling it “Shakespearian.” He says they spoke almost every day for 15 years & were very close. He also praises Ben, calling him “the most important political voice of his generation,” (the one with which Jeremy’s most politically aligned), and a wonderful father. Jeremy says the cracks aren’t repaired yet: “Relationships are very challenging, and our relationship is in a very challenging place.” However, he’s generous and gracious and doesn’t seem bitter. Last November, Allie Beth Stuckey described Candace Owens’s vicious attacks on those who push back on her. Allie mentioned disproportionate force & personal accusations which intimidate many ppl into silence: “Anyone who’s ever gotten in Candace’s crosshairs knows that if you do or say something that she perceives as subverting her, she will retaliate with 10 times the force that you approached her, and that retaliation may involve attempts at character assassination.”
