For each other, for others, for people you'll never meet, for causes. The Fallout community ceased being a community long ago, because in actuality - we're a found family. We hail from all over the world, come from all walks of life, and we all found home in the strangest of places: the end. Since #FalloutForHope began this community has raised almost $1 million for those in need and we've helped each other when we've needed it. That's family. We're thrilled to share that this October 23rd, we're going "home" for a holiday that embodies the spirit of our community. This #FalloutDay, for the first time, we'll be live from Bethesda in Rockville with Scottykfitness and we can't wait for you to see what we have planned... Please stand by. Looking to get involved? Tears and typing incoming... 😭 $1 MILLION passed with Twitch's donation. 6 years ago, the Fallout community rallied together when Wasteland Medic and Dr. C.J. Martin needed desperate and immediate help. From those acts, that kindness and taking care of our own, a small pool of passionate #Fallout76 players gathered to fundraise for St. Jude and in one week raised over $109k. That week became a homecoming, a mission, a cause, and now comprises of a team of now 850+ creators, streamers, cosplayers, artists, writers, podcasters, prop builders and post apocalyptic larpers from 86 countries. I've often wondered what it is about Fallout that distinctly created such a uniquely giving community, one that acts more like a family (in all its complexities) than just another gaming fandom. So, why Fallout? I think because all of us grew up living in a world at the end. We all had a choice, we all walked a road, we fell in love with characters, and wastelands and through our choices shaped the world. The fact that NOW you all have done that for people you'll never meet is nothing short of remarkable. Thank you. All of you - not just for you time, talent, and donations, but for knowing that hope and empathy are choices - powerful currency in a cynical world. Thank you to every one of our staff, every team member who shows up year after year. Much love to St. Jude Alzheimer's Association and GCX for their support and having the best teams in charity. Love to Wes Johnson and Pete Hines who believed in and supported us from day #1. Thank you to everyone at Bethesda Game Studios and the Fallout team for giving us the sandboxes to bring a world and generations of gamers together to do good in the world. War. War Never Changes.
