This Is My Father’s House in the West Bank This is my father’s house, built two years ago on our family’s land in the village of Turmusaya, near Ramallah in the West Bank. Shortly after construction was completed, Israeli settlers began establishing nearby outposts, a well-documented tactic used to intimidate Palestinians, restrict access to their land, and ultimately pave the way for land seizure. Our family owns five dunams here and has farmed this land for generations. Despite the land being classified as Area A and Area B, it was suddenly declared a closed military zone, and we were barred from accessing our own property.
