Putin held a surprise meeting with the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces. He announced that the “Sarmat” strategic missile system will be put on combat duty by the end of 2026. Putin said that Russia was forced to reconsider how to ensure its strategic security after the U.S. withdrew from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. The Ministry of Defense released footage of the Sarmat tests.
