I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: Beating is NOT the solution for proper upbringing (Tarbiyya). No matter what a girl does, it is wrong to have a grown man beating her like that. What if he causes permanent harm or a serious injury? Most of us were disciplined as children, but it was never this kind of extreme violence. You cannot raise today’s children with this level of brutality. We need to do better.
