I don't really understand the "Rhaenyra is a whore" narrative pushed by Green supporters. Let's think about this with our brains, not our emotions. When Rhaenyra slept with Criston Cole, she wasn't married. Was she? Later, her marriage to Laenor was built on an understanding. Laenor loved men, they both knew the reality of their situation, and they agreed to do what was necessary to have heirs while each lived the life they wanted. He knew Jace, Lucerys, and Joffrey weren't biologically his, yet he willingly raised and loved them as his own. So... who exactly was she whoring with? And after Laenor's presumed death, she married Daemon. From that point on, Daemon was the only partner we see her with. So where does this image of Rhaenyra sleeping around with countless men even come from? Meanwhile, many of the same people who throw that label at Rhaenyra are willing to overlook Aegon, a man portrayed as a rapist. To me, that's never been about morality. It's always looked more like a double standard. #HOTD

In my opinion, this is one of the most heartbreaking moral dilemmas in House of the Dragon, and I don't think enough people try to see it through Rhaenys' eyes. Just imagine it. Imagine spending your entire life building a family you were proud of. You watch your daughter, Laena, grow into a fierce dragonrider... only to receive the news that she died far away from home. You never got the chance to hold her one last time. Never got to say goodbye. Before your heart even has a chance to heal, your son, Laenor, is suddenly "dead" too. Another funeral. Another child buried. Another piece of your soul ripped away. Can you imagine what that would do to a mother? How many nights would you lie awake wondering what you did to deserve burying both of your children? How many times would you replay every memory of them in your head, wishing you could hear their voices just one more time? And then the whispers begin. "They say Daemon had Laenor killed." "They say Rhaenyra married him only days later." Whether it's true doesn't even matter anymore. That's the story everyone believes. How could a grieving mother not question everything? How could she look at Rhaenyra and Daemon without wondering... "Did you take my son from me?" Then, as if life hasn't already taken enough from you, the Greens imprison you. You are no queen. You are no usurper. You didn't start this succession crisis. You never wanted the Iron Throne. You are simply a mother who has already buried everything she loved. And suddenly fate places the lives of the entire Green family beneath your dragon. One command. One word. "Dracarys." Just like that... the war could end before it even begins. No Dance of the Dragons. No Rook's Rest. No Gullet. No Gods Eye. No dragons falling from the sky. No mothers burying children. No children growing up without parents. But at what cost? Could you really burn Alicent alive while she stands beside her children? Could you watch Helaena, a woman who has done nothing to you personally, die beside the people she loves? Could you destroy an entire royal family before a single battle had even begun? Would history remember you as the woman who saved thousands... or as the woman who massacred a family in front of the whole realm? And then another thought creeps into your mind. If I spare them today... Will my granddaughters be the ones paying for my mercy tomorrow? Will Baela and Rhaena one day climb onto their dragons because I chose not to end this when I had the chance? Can you imagine carrying that weight for the rest of your life? That's why I can never call Rhaenys a coward for flying away. But I also can't call people unreasonable for asking why she didn't. Because there was no painless choice. Only two roads. One covered in the ashes of the family she could have burned with her own hands... The other covered in the blood of the loved ones she might lose because she chose mercy. If I were standing where Rhaenys stood in Episode 9, looking down from Meleys with grief, rage, heartbreak, and two children's memories flooding my mind... I genuinely don't know what I would have done. And I think that's exactly why that scene still divides this fandom today. #HOTD
