"Essendon wonna be influencer"

Shorts

To the Dons fans who asked me to post the Archie Roberts incident, here you go. Carlton fans who had an issue with Farrow pushing Kemp into the fence have been conspicuously silent on Acres slinging-tackling Roberts past the boundary line towards the signage. Even BT saw it

Every word still rings true 15+ years on. Mark McVeigh personifies the greatness Essendon has within & he saw firsthand what it takes to get to the pinnacle. “Remember how bad this feels & go do something about it!” Do any of the players take enough pride & responsibility in their own performance to go that extra mile? Do they have the capability/willingness to sacrifice, nail their nutrition & leaving no stone unturned? Lastly, are they prepared to train well beyond what’s expected at an elite level, not just the bare minimum? Will they battle harder than ever before to become better players? That’s routinely catching up with coaches (beyond the mandatory) watching endless film & create a killer’s mentality that’s willing fight even harder when the deck is stacked against us? There’s so much passion Mark McVeigh can bring to the table, & given he was GWS’ caretaker role when Leon Cameron left, he’s developed a strong set of skills outside the Essendon four walls. He’s not some kind of blindly naive first-time head coach who’ll be out of his depth. He’ll add so much to our coaching panel: whether it’s as the head coach or as a key assistant. Bring Spike back, because he is ESSENDON ❤️🖤

Then add this trite diatribe Kingy runs with. If he's so steadfast on Essendon getting a "Luke Hodge style" player, you'd think he'd be able to come up with at least one player that fits his criteria. Just another hatchet job on a club that's done a lot right this off-season

This Voss goal into WharfieTime should have been it. But like Goddard's hanger & goal in the first 2010 GF, an all time moment will be forgotten because of the result. The MCG, already heaving after the Voss goal went to another level. Chills. Never retire it Freo: Embrace it

What is your favourite footy moment where the final margin did not matter? Hard to go past Adam Ramanauskas' return goal in 2007. The roar of the crowd was as loud as you'll ever hear, even the Cats fans cheered this one. Such a special player & an inspiration to so many ❤️🖤
