My heart broke several times today. First Beryl, now Melissa. We don’t know why South West, why St. Bess, or why Jamaica, but we’ve risen before, and we will rise again. I will respond to messages soon. Trying to make contact with more of my constituents.

When I drove through Holland Bamboo my heart broke a million times.

We’re on the ground in SW St. Elizabeth assessing the damage from Hurricane Melissa. Nearly 90% of homes are affected, with many communities cut off from roads, light, and data. Recovery starts now — our people will need your help. 🙏🏾🇯🇲❤️

Holland Bamboo is now clear for passage. Minister Morgan (@nestaja) has advised that the clearing of Black River town will begin today. Some communities remain cut off, with roads so badly damaged that they can only be accessed by foot or bike. More updates soon.

At the Luana pumping station with the NWC team as they install a generator to restore supply. Luana is key — once water flows here, trucks can load and serve nearby communities. Work is also ongoing in Dalintober, Newell, and Little Park.
