This morning, the collision involving heavy-duty trailers on Otedola Bridge has culminated in an unfortunate fatality, with the operator of one of the trailers succumbing to the traumatic injuries sustained in the accident. The calamitous incident, which transpired due to a reckless contest for right of way, has prompted an expeditious emergency response from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). The aberrant drivers, seemingly oblivious to the perils of their actions, were traversing the bridge when the collision occurred, obstructing nearly 80% of the carriageway and precipitating extensive traffic congestion. LASTMA personnel responded promptly, effectuating an intricate rescue operation to extricate the trapped driver, who was subsequently transferred to the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) but unfortunately pronounced d#@d. The aftermath of the accident has witnessed a paradigmatic shift in traffic flow, with motorists being redirected through alternative routes, in a bid to mitigate the congestion. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, lamented the incident, attributing it to the impetuous nature and indiscipline prevalent among some drivers.
