Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar Ishaq Dar today welcomed a delegation of senior Bangladeshi civil servants at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The delegation is visiting Pakistan under the Pakistan–Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative for a three-week executive development programme at the Civil Services Academy, Lahore. The visit, taking place after 53 years, marks an important milestone in bilateral institutional exchanges. The Knowledge Corridor was launched during the DPM/FM’s visit to Dhaka in August 2025, where he announced 500 scholarships for Bangladeshi students over five years. To date, 74 Bangladeshi students are already pursuing higher education in Pakistan. During the visit, he will attend high-level UNSC Open Debate on “Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-centered International System”, being convened under China’s Presidency of the UN Security Council. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Shafqat Ali Khan, called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on the sidelines of the Regional Envoys’ Conference in Islamabad.
