Believe it or not, MAD was actually the very first TV show to directly reference/have Easter eggs in it for Gravity Falls. It was part of a segment in season 3, episode 10, called Pokémon of Interest. The episode aired on September 20, 2012; 3 months after Gravity Falls began.

Here's a fun piece of obscurer Gravity Falls trivia. Near the end of the show, Disney XD posted fake adverts called "Shop at Home with Mr. Mystery," featuring puppet Grunkle Stan. One of them was a blooper reel meant to parody believe or not, the Winnebago Man and Bill O'Reilly!
