Some general comments and pattern recognition from david friedberg on the latest The All-In Podcast, on an emerging category of acquisitions that he’s noticed, with some mentions of $GME and Ryan Cohen being squarely in that mix and possibly setting the precedent. "..I'll make a prediction, I think that $EBAY and $PYPL are probably the beginning of a wave of megadeals, of let’s call it, flaccid digitinal businesses that can be revived with the bluechew of cqpitql ans the right operator and I think that there is probably a big wave of this to come.." "..And that's a massive opportunity, the question is, as a capital provider, who do you partner with to execute that operational revival of that business? You're not gonna go hire some Mckinsey consultnt to go to that work for you, its gotta be the best of the best, its gotta be the right players in the business. More on how the existing 1600 $GME physical locations fit in to the picture post-acquisition of $EBAY, ranging from being authentication/shipping hubs to being a studio/logistics centers for live shopping and content creators. Which by the way, even after closing thousands of stores, there is still one GameStop store within 15 minutes for 80% of Americans!

But, if you look at where the company was from when I joined the board in January of 2021 and a few hundred million of debt, losing hundreds of millions of dollars - to where the company is today, you know, $9bn cash on the balance sheet and the retail business is running profitably. Then, you know, you may be able to extrapolate and see where we we will be in the future” Like he said, he doesn't have a crystal ball. Butttt we all might know someone that has a modern equivalent.
