A first-of-its-kind National Anti-Fraud Strategy that will develop fraud prevention measures and policies across sectors, and as a first step will require banks to have policies to prevent and address fraud, while giving consumers more control over their bank accounts. Next, we will create a Financial Crimes Agency to lead Canada’s efforts in combatting sophisticated financial crimes. Finally, we will work with stakeholders and banks to develop a Code of Conduct for the Prevention of Economic Abuse.
