Today, Lukashenka is apologizing to Zelenskyy. Not so long ago, he was calling on Zelenskyy to capitulate. It shows that Ukraine is strong & Lukashenka’s regime is vulnerable. Lukashenka doesn't deserve an apology. He is a liar, criminal and must bear full responsibility.

Here, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya heard her husband Siarhei Tsikhanouski’s voice for the first time in 4.5 years – after 2 years and 3 months of complete incommunicado detention. "Yes, we’ll see each other soon. Listen, [things are] already better now. I’m so happy to hear your voice! I haven’t known anything about you for over two years, Siarhei. Absolutely nothing. No, not a single [letter came]. And over these two years, did you get any letters from Ahniya? Not a single one, right? But we wrote… Well, of course".

Mikita Zalatarou – arrested as a 16 y.o. boy during the protests. Katsiaryna Andreyeva & Eduard Palchys spent years in prison for journalism/blogging. Valiantsin Stefanovich – repressed for his work at Viasna. Now, they are free. All 1,100 political prisoners must be free.

I have waited for this moment for 5 years. Ales Bialiatski is the person who saved me from prison and defended me in court. He is a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, a human rights defender, a guardian angel for Belarusians – and now he is free. We are grateful to the US and the EU!

My dear dear friend Ihar Losik is finally free. His imprisonment in Belarus was full of horrors. Even while forcibly exiled into Lithuania, Lukashenka’s regime transported him with a bag on his head. Today, Ihar is sad that he can’t reunite with his family — they’re in Belarus.

The rally of Belarusians on August 16, 2020, will forever be written into the modern history of Belarus. Hundreds of thousands gathered in central Minsk against fraudulent elections, lawlessness, and violence. We rose for freedom and democracy – and we continue that fight today.

Nina Bahinskaya, a legend of the Belarusian protest, was seen at the Church of Saints Simon and Alena in Minsk. It’s good to know she’s safe and sound. Bahinskaya has dedicated so many years of her life to standing up for the freedom of Belarus, despite the repressive regime.

I told euronews today that after his release, Siarhei Tsikhanouski said he had forgotten how to talk – after spending 5 years in solitary confinement in Belarus, speaking only to the walls. But he’s still the same Siarhei: making jokes and commenting on politics.

Siarhei Tsikhanouski was taken by Lukashenka's regime exactly 5 years ago during a rally for Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya in Belarus. Serving an unimaginable 19.5-year sentence, he has been held completely incommunicado for over 2 years. We don’t know his condition – or even if he’s alive.

"My children ask me, 'Why isn’t daddy writing to us anymore? Doesn’t he love us? Or maybe he’s dead?'" – shared Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya at #WEF25. This is the harsh reality families in Belarus endure as the regime keeps many political prisoners, like Siarhei Tsikhanouski, incommunicado.
