If someone walks up to you in a face covering, you can trust that they don't want their identity to be associated with their actions, usually because they have bad intentions. If someone tells you they're going to harm you, believe that they may try, in this case the assailant followed us down the street and told us he was going to 'poke' us unless we deleted the video we took of him committing a different crime 10 minutes earlier. If someone acts like they have a knife assume that they're going to use it. If you can get away without a conflict ensuing then do that, if you can't then engage initially from a safer distance and try to end it as quickly as possible. Lastly, don't assume that running away will always work, other people also have the ability to run and chase after you, and if you have your back turned to your opponent they can do something you aren't prepared for. That's all.

What the average person needs to train to be able to win most fights is this simple, you can learn this and more in 1 or 2 hrs a week at a boxing/thai/mma gym, fighting is not my profession, I'm a security guard who loves it as a hobby/lifestyle, I'm not Jon Jones or fedor ya know? What's your excuse fellow British man?🇬🇧

As sad as it is to say, this was always going to happen again. But the fact that it’s happened in my town really makes it hit home. Apparently a security guard is one of the casualties, which only goes to show the dangers you face in this work. These qualification courses can be swept through with no real teachings and can give people a false sense of belief in their ability to deal with a dangerous situation. This is why a commitment to training in your own time is so important. Not that it would have prevented this particular security guard or others being attacked, (he might have already been a highly trained individual) but it gives you the best possible chance because apparently you just never know when a crazed mass murderer will try and run you down in your workplace and try to blow you up. Choosing this particular day to attack also shows you the level of their hatred and resolution to destroy anything outside of their primitive beliefs. Our work has just begun.
