I am able to use ocrmypdf ( to add a text layer to the BIHAR SIR files that have been converted by ECI from digital to unreadable-by-machine in the age of digital. This solution can be run free of cost on your computer, takes a while to convert if you have an old computer, but it allows decent amount of searching. The command I used was: parallel --tag -j 2 ocrmypdf -l hin+eng --optimize 3 --deskew --rotate-pages --clean '{}' 'output/{}' ::: *.pdf You'll have to install both english and hindi language files for tesseract.

THREAD: Yesterday, Ranveer Allahbadia aka Ranveer Allahbadia went on the Piers Morgan show. At one point, he was asked why he had deleted a certain story that he'd posted on Instagram where he had empathised with Pakistanis. Food 'bloggers' have flooded our timelines. There are many Kolkata based food 'bloggers' on mine. Every new or old restaurant they go to, they always love the food. There isn’t a single restaurant they seem to dislike. Recently, a 'blogger' went to a new restaurant that has opened near my place in Kolkata. I know the food there largely sucks, but this particular food 'blogger' went raving about it. The culture of blogging began as a critique of the mainstream, not as a PR exercise, so it is a shame that these content creators are being referred to as bloggers. Indian mainstream media is like that, only much worse. The food bloggers are at worst guilty of exaggerating how good a plate of momos is. The mainstream media will claim that a plate of veg momos is far superior to chili garlic prawns, and that those who prefer chili garlic prawns are enemies of Chinese cuisine. They will insist that veg momos were the original, the authentic, the true essence of Chinese food, and by the end of it, you will almost believe them, and start hating everyone who prefers chili garlic prawns.

Please don't vote for BJP. Their politics is about making one citizen hate another citizen, one human fear another human. Please don't vote for BJP because this man's anguish is real, this man's helplessness is real, and that many in this country already think that he deserves the pain that he's feeling. There are many reasons not to vote for BJP, including their crony capitalism, their washing machine, electoral bonds, etc, but the foremost reason not to vote for them is because their politics is making us a country that is devoid of love and empathy for a fellow being.
