Graham Platner was recruited to run for Senate by a pair of socialist political operatives, Daniel Moraff and Leanne Fan, who determined that another prospective candidate had “a skeleton in the closet.” The Wall Street Journal published a rare interview with the duo on Sunday who revealed they paid “a whole chunk of money” to vet Platner but managed to turn up neither his Nazi ink nor many of his Reddit posts.

Left-wing Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner smeared the late “American Sniper” Chris Kyle in a 2024 podcast interview, suggesting that Kyle shot innocent civilians in Iraq to inflate his kill numbers. Platner also bristled at the fact that Kyle and members of his platoon were described as “heroes,” calling it “a weird practical joke.”

As U.S. policymakers highlight the American adversaries that are powering the opposition to data centers, records show that foreign billionaires and nonprofits have funneled tens of millions of dollars to the activist groups fueling data center opposition across the United States, Collin Anderson reports.

Left-wing Senate candidate Graham Platner often touts his role as harbormaster of his Maine town—one he has repeatedly said on the campaign trail he actively “serves” in—as proof of his “working class” bona fides. “He actually held the role for roughly 18 months before quitting to launch his Senate campaign—and it was largely a ‘clerical’ one, according to local records and people familiar with the position,” Peter J. Hasson and Alana Goodman report.

In brief remarks at the event that were available afterward via a video feed, the mayor mispronounced the Hebrew word for "covenant," or brit, turning a one-syllable word that rhymes with "feet" into two. "The Buh-REET that has long dictated how to live well in the community," he said. "The Buh-REET is a reminder that our fundamental obligation is to one another. It teaches of the obligation we hold to uplift the poor, to protect the vulnerable, and in the words of Leviticus 19:18, to love thy neighbor as thyself."

WATCH: Mahmoud Khalil, a leader of the anti-Semitic protests that have rocked Columbia University, says "we" couldn't have avoided Hamas's Oct. 7 massacre. "It felt frightening that we had to reach this moment in the Palestinian struggle," he said. "We couldn't avoid such a moment." Later on, Khalil said the attack had to happen "to break the cycle," given that a "Saudi-Israel deal" was "very imminent."

NEW: When the mother of a black Texas middle schooler claimed in 2021 that a group of white students made her son drink urine, media outlets from NBC to CNN and ABC covered the story. “Texas authorities investigating allegations of racism and bullying of a 13-year-old by his classmates during sleepover,” a CNN headline blared. Nearly five years later, we’re learning it was a giant hoax. None of the outlets that covered the case have written follow-up stories despite the lurid (and defamatory) nature of the allegations, which included not just the urine but also that the boy was shot with a BB gun and called racial slurs.

Graham Platner has made his status as a fully disabled veteran a central part of his insurgent campaign against Maine senator Susan Collins—but he’s refused to disclose whether the Veterans Affairs benefits that make up the vast majority of his income come with work restrictions that would prohibit him from drawing a salary, a critical distinction that could have legal implications for his campaign.

NEW: New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani’s pick to run the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene comes with a controversial political résumé: Alister Martin, the city’s new health czar, founded Vot-ER, a left-wing nonprofit that promotes voter registration in psychiatric hospitals where patients are being treated for schizophrenia, suicidal ideation, and severe addiction, Aaron Sibarium reports.

In this week’s Stiles Section: a farewell to two fallen pillars of modern liberalism—Barney Frank and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Andrew Stiles writes: Stephen Colbert is officially off the air. By the time you read this, he’ll have hosted his final episode of The Late Show on CBS—a show that hasn’t been profitable (or funny) in years. Liberal elites and other sanctimonious cranks will mourn Colbert’s departure because, according to their educated worldview, all white men have a God-given right to earn $15 million to go on television and say things they agree with. “He’s radiated gratitude,” CNN’s Brian Stelter said of Colbert during an appearance at the Workplace Innovation Summit, sponsored by Fortune magazine. “We need those kinds of role models.”

New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani recently unveiled his plan to build a government-run grocery store in Manhattan. Rooted in the failed tenets of communism, the taxpayer-funded supermarket will cost $30 million and take three years to build. “Most self-respecting experts think it’s a terrible idea—for obvious reasons,” Andrew Stiles writes. Here’s everything you need to know:

WATCH: On the eve of the release of the last living hostages, Kamala Harris took the opportunity to accuse Israel of genocide. She told her pal and MSNBC host Eugene Daniels, “I will tell you that when you look at the number of children that have been killed, the number of innocent civilians that have been killed, the refusal to give aid and support, we should all step back and ask this question and be honest about it, yeah.”

WATCH: It turns out Morning Joe hasn’t had much Joe at all over the past several months, as host Joe Scarborough and cohost slash wife Mika Brzezinski treated their flagship program like a hobby rather than a job, racking up a remarkable number of absences, a Free Beacon analysis found. Scarborough and Brzezinski, who are paid millions of dollars to host a show from a specially built home studio in Florida: 📉Appeared together on just 70 of 124 episodes between May 27 and Nov. 15. 📉Scarborough missed 29 shows. 📉Brzezinski skipped 41, or 1 out of every 3. 📉Neither host was present for 16 shows, leaving fill-ins like former BBC presenter Katty Kay to apologize to viewers with opening messages like, “Everybody’s off except me.
