in the sub for episode one it just says "mom" when coco falls, but in the dub she says, "i'm here, mom!" this is because the show is actively trying to kill you

Sensitive content

me when i realize that this whole drowning-dragon-in-sky's-worth-of-water incident might stick with my apprentice so i say the dragon is unconcious and absolutely alive and hope that she forgets i did all of that

#whaanimespoilers every time agott shows up in frame it has to be some shojo prince type bullshit. never change agott

i find it ironic that she joined the knights because they were the first people to listen and take her seriously (as a child) but when children are yelling “we didn’t do it!!” in front of her eyes she dgaf 😭😭😭

this moment in episode five makes me laugh because bug films were like okay how do we make coco aurafarm when she's only holding blueprints. look off pensively into the distance

the japanese va on the other hand...can qifrey fight?

Sensitive content

yo 😭😭😭😭😭

IM CRYINGGG

first beast cookie to rage quit his video

the tie-grab....

#whaspoilers QIFREY SOUNDS SO NERVOUS LMFAOO HES TWIDDLING HIS THUMBS????

#whaanimespoilers the spell for the door seems almost mechanical in nature!!! you don't really get that sense from the manga since it just kind of appears in the next panel

is olruggio's dub accent scottish or am i tripping #whaanimespoilers

#whaanimespoilers the magic in witch hat always looks spectacular, but i think olruggio's magic is the most gorgeous i've seen so far - and it makes sense, since his spells were the ones that gave coco her love for magic. in her eyes, his magic is the most beautiful of all.

#whaanimespoilers unfortunately, "you are hereby relieved of your memories" is a hard ass line

MYSTIC FLOUR?? SHE’S SO ETHEREAL 😭

ARE THEY SPEAKING MONGOLIAN?????

i adore jaadugar’s art style but this killed me

you know who i CAN call a bum though #whaanimespoilers

can't get away with calling qifrey a bum this episode. rescued agott, took out the dragon with one spell he drew mid-air on his arm, aura farmed for two straight minutes, effectively comforted coco and his students. that's the #goat i fear #whaanimespoilers

rough animation of the petrification of coco's mother...it's so interesting seeing the detail that goes into the animation process

i adore the way they animated this scene between coco and tetia...both of them admitting their fears and trying to comfort the other best as they can in a situation that's out of their hands. that's SISTERHOOD #whaanimespoilers

Sensitive content

yuuri got so used to victor's post-game physical touch as a method of destressing/comfort that he's seeking it from the others in victor's absence 😭

at the beginning of the episode, the mongolian characters speak japanese, but here, where the language divide is an important way of establishing the characters' dynamics, they switch back to mongolian. i really love the use of language in this show

THE SNUGSTONE SCENE #whaanimespoilers

all the animation budget for this episode going into akane cooking absolute bullshit...they are making the right choices

qifrey slowly pulling himself to his feet, the burst of light from within his cloak, the transition to a sketchy, more manga adjacent style...this is genuinely perfect. they could have just left it at him standing upright but took it to the next level #whaanimespoilers

there are two things that get me about this sequence: the way euini's hand spasming out of control was animated, and how he says "i'm disappearing," when hiding was something that had once been a source of comfort and confidence for him #whaanimespoilers

Sensitive content

i know that’s right

the difference in pure vanilla's voice since the start of the game omg

okay enough easthies nuance here's my easthies slander #witchhatatelier #wha

theres just too many good things in this scene. yuri having zero explaination for the rings. phichit's joy and him shouting that his friends are getting married at the top of his lungs, no questions, no "how did this happen." otabek earnestly clapping. yurio losing his shit.

akane forgetting ranma entirely but still having the conditioned reflex to beat the shit out of him 😭

god i cannot praise the colors and composition of jaadugar enough - this first shot of sitara running through the streets is beautiful. the background sound of the mosque broadcast is so reminiscent of where i used to live that i feel homesick despite not being muslim lmao
