This is an incredible stunt and very impressive, but there seems to be this weird Mandela Effect where the world is convinced she did this all by herself. I hate to be a party pooper but she was on wires the entire time. It’s just shot/edited really, REALLY well.

I could post any number of fight scenes from countless Hong Kong martial arts films. But I'll go with something (kinda) American. The finale of NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER 3: BLOOD BROTHERS (1990). My jaw dropped when I first saw this scene and it's become an absolute classic to me.

It seems more and more people are becoming familiar with "Baby Assassins" and even "Ghost Killer." Well, may I steer you towards Kensuke Sonomura's earlier film (as director and fight choreographer), "Hydra?" I rewatched this one recently and the finale is jaw dropping.

Behind the scenes footage of Jackie Chan choreographing the opening of 'The 36 Crazy Fists' (1979). While smoking a cheeky cig, no less. It's great to see footage like this, taken on the famous "red background" set so many kung fu films used to use back then.

I love kung fu films. I love the imagination poured into kung fu movies. They're the ultimate playground because there are no rules. This is why I love RAIDERS OF THE SHAOLIN TEMPLE, a film in which our hero has to fight a barrage of golden horses in the finale. It's nuts.

A Happy belated Birthday to Michelle Yeoh. She turned 63 years young on August 6th. An icon of the martial arts cinema genre (and much more), she has been a staple since the 80's, and one of the mothers of the Girls with Guns sub genre. Here she is in 1994's WING CHUN.

21 Red List (1994) is a Taiwanese film that may fly underneath some radars. The action in this one is absolutely nuts. Lots of brutal stunt falls and wire work. Well worth tracking down if you can find it (hint: it’s on YouTube). Action by Álexander Lou who also co-stars.

Posting an absolute classic today. Gordon Liu and Yasutaka Nakazaki trade weapons in Lau Kar Leung's Shaw Brothers masterpiece, HEROES OF THE EAST (1978). I've shown kung fu cinema fans and non-kung fu cinema fans this film and every single one of them has loved it.
