This is my fight with Hugo Viana on July 16, 2014. My 2nd UFC at the Revel Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. I was young and hungry at 24 years old and just wanted to keep on fighting as much as I could to make money. My dad was in jail, I was a substitute teacher at my old High School, Uniondale, and I really needed to see if I was gonna make something of myself in this sport or I’d go and use my degree and teach kids. - Viana had fought TJ Dillashaw, and I wanted to be like TJ. Always emulating his style and signature techniques sayin “I can do that too!” I was chasing Dillashaw wondering if I’d ever be good enough to fight with him or beat him. He was the Champ and I was a dreamer. “One day I will earn a chance to fight for a title…” Finishing Hugo Viana was a confidence boost that told me I’m on the right track. I wasn’t a complete fighter but I was on my way!

I believe God has a plan and is protecting me to give my best for Movsar Evloev. I need all my tools for an opponent like Movsar and hopefully he’s willing to fight me when I’m healed up. I just want to have a better understanding on what it is we need to do at this level of the game. Not everyone is a KO artist, not everyone likes be loud or obnoxious to get what should be considered “earned”. What is the criteria?? Bc winning just isn’t enough.
