My god. People in Western NC have no choice but to evacuate by foot. The roads are just gone. Older people who can’t hike out will starve or die of dehydration if no one gets to them soon. It’s hell. I am struggling with the reports of children being found in the woods alone.

The MOST bad ass thing about the help NC is getting is that the teams doing the real work are totally self sufficient. This crew has damn farm machinery in front to clear any path issues they face. They are going to get these supplies to stranded folks come hell or high water.

The Appalachians are fucked and I’m ANGRY. This is just 1 of thousands headed into winter without a home. If they were illegal immigrants, they would have hotel rooms and debit cards. I will NEVER forget what is being done to Appalachian people by the current administration.
