20,000 years ago, HALF of all humans born were dead at the age of 30. Fast forward to 1840… and guess what? Half the population born was dead by the age of 35. Twenty thousand years… and we gained five years. That’s it. So no this isn’t about people being “stronger,” “tougher,” or somehow more “natural” back then. This is about SCIENCE. Clean water. Vaccines. Medicine. Sanitation. Public health. That’s what changed everything. Stop romanticizing the past. If you want to thank anything for longer, healthier lives thank science.

I’m sorry America, you still don’t know how hated your country is….. America is what happens when politicians build power by feeding people fear, division, and hate. And if we keep giving politicians like Jamil Jivani a pass while they attack DEI, target LGBTQ+ communities, stoke division, and push rhetoric that drags women backward, Canada will follow the same dangerous path. I do not want this country turning into a place where vulnerable communities are scapegoated, women’s rights are treated as optional, and cruelty is repackaged as “common sense.” We are already seeing too much of this poison in our politics, and it needs to be called out for what it is before it gets worse. Canada should be moving forward, not importing the ugliest parts of American culture-war politics.

Cineplex CEO Ellis Jacob says Canadian films are struggling because of “poor quality.” No. That’s not it. I love going to the movies. I’ve been going to theatres since I was a teenager. The problem isn’t the films. It’s the cost of concessions. Everyone wants popcorn and a drink at a movie. But when popcorn is $12, drinks are $8–$9, and snacks are $6+, a simple movie night suddenly costs a fortune. People aren’t staying home because of the movies. They’re staying home because Cineplex made movie night too expensive. 🍿
