Survey Mechanic is ready now. U can scan things to progress Locale Survey Data and earn Survey Points, which can be exchanged for credits. [WIP] U can also scan "traces" and track down "High-Threat monsters" Combat is no longer the only activity U can do in this game now.

New mechanics have been added into the game, "deep scanning" and "mining" mechanic. Exotic/deviated materials are also everywhere and are very valuable for trading. Scanning them will reveal more information of the locale. More to come btw.
