A repeated mistake might need more than just forgiveness. In fact, even whether to forgive a one off mistake is a personal choice, shaped by individual experiences, circumstances, and considerations. At the same time, let’s remember that mistakes do happen. Wrong things are said. Poor choices are sometimes made. An occasional slip does not make a person bad. People who acknowledge their mistakes, genuinely regret them, take responsibility, and sincerely strive to do better deserve understanding and an opportunity to grow. What we need to be careful of, however, are those who show no remorse, accept no responsibility, and repeatedly engage in the same toxic behaviour. A mistake can be forgiven. A lot of times, our intention in trying to correct someone may be to help them, but the way we do it could be insensitive and hurtful. Before we give corrective feedback to someone, let’s ask ourselves these 4 questions and go ahead only if the answers to all of these are yes. Ask yourself: * Am I the right person to give corrective feedback? * Do I have the right intention to give corrective feedback? * Do I know the right way (sensitive to the feelings of others) to give corrective feedback? * Is it the right time, or do I need to wait until later? On the eve of the inauguration of the temple for Shri Rama in Ayodhya, here’s a story that will make your eyes moist. Valmiki Maharshi’s Ramayan and the story of Shri Rama have been a beacon light of inspiration to the lives of millions, imparting life wisdom beyond any religious or geographical boundaries. To many, Shri Rama might be their worshippable and venerable god and deity. Yet, to many others, he might be an icon of ideal and inclusive leadership, imparting valuable lessons and insights. Some might call him just a myth, while for others, he might be a historical reality.
