There is a lot of noncompliance in the crypto space. It undermines confidence when so many people have been hurt and all they can do is stand in line in the bankruptcy court. Further, this can make it hard for the good faith actors to compete.

We U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission charged Genesis & Gemini for the unregistered offer & sale of crypto asset securities through Gemini Earn. There's nothing incompatible in the crypto mkts w/ the securities laws. A goal of our work U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is to bring this field into compliance. That way, investors get the same time-tested protections they get elsewhere in the mkts. Watch my discussion at Council of Institutional Investors's Conf.

We U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission just proposed to expand & enhance the role of qualified custodians when registered investment advisers custody assets on behalf of investors. Thru our rule, investors would get the time-tested protections—and qualified custodians—they deserve. What does this mean? ⬇️

We are partners of honest business & prosecutors of dishonesty. We shall not prejudge, but we shall investigate.” Check out my recent remarks:

More than 90% of retail investors’ marketable orders are routed to a small group of off-exchange wholesalers. I think retail investors deserve the full benefit of competition. The annual competitive shortfall could be worth ~$1.5B: money that could go into investors’ pockets.
