As a precautionary measure the City's Disaster Risk Management teams have assisted with the evacuation of around 198 households from the Noordhoek Manor area, including 48 frail care residents. Road closures around the deep south are in place to protect residents. We urge you to stay away from these areas as traffic becomes gridlocked ⚠️ Donations in the form of water, energy drinks and bars, as well as non-perishable items may be dropped off at Lakeside Fire Station 🤍🤲

So we support the SAPS action, and in fact our own investigations spurred them to act.
