Please follow instructions of local Officers and Fire crews. As a precautionary measure the City's Disaster Risk Management teams have assisted with the evacuation of around 198 households from the Noordhoek Manor area, including 48 frail care residents. Road closures around the deep south are in place to protect residents. We urge you to stay away from these areas as traffic becomes gridlocked ⚠️ Donations in the form of water, energy drinks and bars, as well as non-perishable items may be dropped off at Lakeside Fire Station 🤍🤲

I moved into Mitchells Plain this past week so that I could spend every day and night joining our Cape Town Metro Police officers and Neighbourhood Watches on safety patrols, drug raids, traffic stops and drone ops 🚨👮‍♂️ Stay tuned to see what happened. Looking forward to sharing with you all the work our Cape Town Officers are doing to support SAPS to make our city safer for all.

Next up, we will build a Metro Police Detective Unit and keep fighting for the power to investigate crime so we can make Cape Town safer for all.

We saw no evidence of the increase in visible policing that Premier Lesufi promised - we couldn’t see even a single officer or vehicle anywhere! The DA is the only party with a credible plan to fix policing in South Africa. Vote for Khathu to get Ekurhuleni working for all. 💙

🚨 I joined DA Johannesburg Mayoral Candidate Helen Zille on an oversight visit to the Olifantsvlei Wastewater Treatment Works. What I witnessed was shocking. Local businessmen like Mr Mabenza have been forced to close their shops, killing jobs in Jo’burg. This is a result of years of neglect and financial mismanagement. It can be fixed with the right leadership that prioritises infrastructure maintenance and ensures public funds are spent on the people. We can fix Johannesburg and get this city working for all by voting DA. Visit to check your registration status. 🗳️💙

🚧 N2 Safety Project: Great to get support from residents along the N2 as we work to repair safety barriers, improve lighting and create new pedestrian crossings. Thousands of residents from Mitchells Plain, Khayelitsha, Blue Downs, Eerste River, Mfuleni and the Helderberg use this highway daily. We are working for their safety! ✅

I’ve heard of a so-called "shutdown" planned for 20 March across SA. Cape Town is focused on growing the economy to get more people into jobs & will not allow violence to disrupt this. We will be open for business as usual. Those responsible for violence will be arrested.
