Phantom Blade Zero is NO soulslike: -Combo driven combat -Multiple difficulty settings -Pretty much no penalty for dying -Respec your build at any time -Boss phase progression after death (no need to replay phases you’ve already beaten) -Enemies don’t respawn once defeated

Another Metroidvania banger! At this point, I’m starting to lose track of how many amazing games I’ve played and how many more keep coming out. There are just TOO MANY great games (not that I’m complaining lmao).

The fact that Phantom Blade Zero and Tides of Annihilation aren’t Soulslikes is a massive win. Not every game needs to be a Soulslike.

Putting End of Abyss on your radar: -Singleplayer game -Some former Little Nightmares devs -Sci-fi horror Metroidvania -30 bucks -Around 15 hours gameplay -Huge interconnected world -Great map -Awesome worldbuilding -Great environmental storytelling -Some of the best sound design of the year -MGS1 style camera vibe -Tons of secrets -Perfect game for October (it’s actually scary) -Out now on PS5, Xbox Series and PC I 100% finished the game and it’s easily been my biggest surprise of the year so far. Such a great game. Really hope more people discover this one. If you’re into Metroidvanias, give it a shot.
