Serena is 24 with three children and says she’s been homeless for about a year. What struck me is how it started. Her second child ended up in the ICU, so she stopped working to stay at the hospital. At the same time, her landlord was selling the house. She lost her housing and never really recovered. Now she’s in Los Angeles with no family there, sometimes staying with her baby’s father, while her three children are with their dad. People see someone homeless on the street and immediately make assumptions. Sometimes addiction or bad decisions are involved, but sometimes life hits someone with several problems at once and they can’t get back on their feet. You never really know somebody’s story just by looking at them.

Reporters frequently suffer injuries while covering sporting events due to errant balls, collisions with players, and equipment malfunctions. Given the high-speed nature of sports, journalists working on the sidelines or on set are regular targets for accidental impacts, which range from mild bruises to severe concussions.

Have you ever had a bad Uber experience? Drivers may arrive late, cancel, complain, or make the ride uncomfortable. We usually hear the passenger’s side—what about the drivers? They face rude or unready passengers, wrong pickups, traffic, and situations like the one in this video. I’ve wondered whether most problems come from the driver, the passenger, or simply sharing a car with strangers. There are two sides to the Uber experience.

SHE ACCUSED HIM OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT. NOW SHE’S THE ONE FACING FELONY CHARGES. Remember when that DoorDash driver recorded a man partially naked on his own couch and accused him of deliberately exposing himself to her? Well, there’s a lot more to that story. The driver, Olivia Henderson, posted the video online, where millions of people reportedly saw it. But when police investigated, they determined the customer, Austin, was unconscious from drinking and had committed no crime. He was never arrested or charged. Henderson, on the other hand, was arrested and charged with two felonies related to recording and distributing the video. She has pleaded not guilty. Here’s what really bothers me. How many people watched that video and immediately assumed he was some kind of sexual predator? And how many ever bothered to find out what the police investigation revealed? Think about his family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers seeing those accusations. I’m a firm believer that real victims deserve justice. But I also believe people who knowingly make false accusations should face serious consequences. We don’t yet know how her case will end, but one thing is certain. It takes seconds to destroy someone’s reputation, and sometimes a lifetime isn’t enough to get it back.

An Iowa nursing assistant was fired from Ottumwa Regional Health Center. The hospital stated it has a zero-tolerance policy for such unacceptable behavior. Cole "Tiny" Cross was receiving treatment for congenital heart disease. A friend of the patient recorded a video showing a nursing assistant using dental floss directly above the patient as he tried to get her attention. The hospital suspended and then terminated the staff member immediately after the video was flagged.

Even when we are not at war, veterans are heroes. I respect veterans, and this video is another reason why. A retired veteran driving for Uber faced an aggressive boyfriend causing trouble in his car. Instead of panicking or escalating, he stayed calm, took control, and protected the woman. That composure under pressure says a lot. Veterans are heroes not only for their service in uniform. The discipline, courage, and instinct to protect others can remain long after it ends. He was just an Uber driver that day. When things turned ugly, those instincts kicked in. Much respect to our veterans. 🇺🇸

On May 28, 2026, firefighters in Galveston, Texas, executed a daring, hours-long rescue of eightp students stranded nearly 100 feet in the air on the vertical lift of the Iron Shark roller coaster at Pleasure Pier. Shortly after, one of the rescued riders filed a lawsuit alleging she was inappropriately touched by a firefighter during the extraction. The complaint stems from the close physical contact required to secure riders in safety harnesses and move them into rescue baskets high above the ground. It seems we constantly hear stories of everyday people trying to help others only to get sued afterward. This time it is a firefighter during a rescue operation. How do you see this playing out?

When you fire a gun at the law, they will hunt you down like a dog until you're behind bars or perish. A high-speed motorcycle chase reaching 150 mph near Los Angeles occurred on the 210 Freeway after the suspect allegedly shot and killed a sheriff's deputy. The rider led police on a dangerous run before an off-duty undercover officer in a Toyota Camry deliberately crashed into the bike.
