And why would a sensible person record this?? I see all cameras pointing to the woman. THIS IS WRONG and whoever does it is stupid. A person is in pain bereaving and your focus is on capturing her pain. These things were never part of our society. Obugunjuffu bwalagawa banange… The other month when the late Maggie-Nalongo died, I saw video clips of people recording her body being wrapped in a backcloth. Seriously what’s there to record on this unless olimussezi!! This is a sacred moment. It doesn’t need stupidity. If people are expressing their pain, keep your phone away. Funeral event’s not something to record and share. And Infact Funeral Service companies should now include a “No Phone Recording Policy” at such events and charge for it. Put a disclaimer that anyone recording at this event will be sued or confiscate the phone. How can someone record a dead body and share it?

Yesterday, I escorted the girls to school. The school is nearby and they go cycling. In our Uganda a child lives in nansana goes to school at Kabojja in Kololo. That same child can’t commute by themselves. If they come cycling, they’ll be laughed at.

Jo juuzi I went to Caramel-Naalya but I don’t like that place anymore. Ekyanyiziiza kiri kimu… I wanted to have a decent meal 🥘 but they told me they don’t serve katogo kebinyeebwa. I kept quiet. As if that wasn’t enough… n’embasaba chai ☕️… they brought me one ka cup n’obukoola… but that wasn’t the problem…the problem was that the girl served me ng’anesiimbyeko!! See where Education has gone. It’s now project based learning. Friends , this school Taibah International School is changing the narrative of learning. Whoever is responsible for designing their calendar is a true educationist. On Saturday the entire school was doing an exposition in agriculture. Each class made research on something. My daughter’s class focused on Technology in Farming. Her project was about Ai irrigation and fertilizer systems. How farmers can improve watering by robots. Her friend did a project on AI robots that diagnose a plant and tell you the disease and solution affecting the plant. In the same class another group did a Rain Sensor Machine that’s aimed at helping farmers who use sun to dry their crops. It was astounding. I visited another class and their subject was about herbal crops and medicine. The entire school was showcasing something and interestingly every child has to participate. At Taibah the teachers never appear anywhere. They teach and give their learners a chance to show what they have learnt. What a concept. When it comes to Junior school, I still recommend to you, Taibah on any day. They know what education is supposed to be. Take a look at a few of the videos and see the level of learning happening

Today morning as I was jogging in Muiden - Nederland, I saw a big farm with such big big cows 🐄. I said to myself “ i will go and have look and ask abt farming. I know am not on appointment and don’t know these people but well if they welcome me, it wud be great, if they don’t, glad I would have tried.” I walked there. On my first sight, I met the wife who’s in her late 40’s. She was busy mowing grass. She smiled at me and I told her my issue. Well she said she’s busy but I can go ask her husband. As a big headed person I went to the husband, Pete. The guy is 54 yrs. He was busy fixing the farm tractor 🚜. Told him am Ugandan and interested in looking around to learn how their farm works. He said “yes”. And that was the beginning of the entire 2 hours I spent with them. He showed me the food, the milk and the milking by the robot. He showed me feeds. What surprised me is the attitude he has towards his farm. He has been on this farm since day one of his birth. The farm has gone through generations. It was started 200yrs ago and it’s still going on. In my time with him, I have learnt that the things we ignore most in Uganda 🇺🇬 are the things they take seriously. They work with a good attitude and get rich. Then the govt taxes them and gives us donations. Farming is their solution. They love and farm with passion. In our land farming is for the old. A child sells of their land to start a phone business at Kooki towers. Our mind needs to be reset.
